So now that we've showeded you the Macy's Light Show and the Macy's animatedted display of A Christmas Carol, I bet you think we're done seeing things in Macy's, right? Contrare, Pierre! We were leaving, but there was more to see on the way out.

This is the world famous John Wanamaker Eagle.
Cornfused? Yeah, we were, too, and we live here! John Wanamaker gradually changed a men's store into the firstest department store, called "Wanamaker's." This was the first department store building openeded in 1869, and remaineded Wanamakers (click the link to see the picture of the world's largest pipe organ, as well as, learn what else is in the 9 story store/12 story building) until 1995. He did other firstests, too, like the firstest return policy, and taking care of his employees, and a few other thingies, too.
This bronze eagle was placed there when the store firstest openeded. Mommy told us that it has always been a place for Peoples to meet. As a little girl, when her Gram, Mommy, and she would go there for the annual Christmas shopping trip into the city, they'd take her to the eagle and told her to meet them there, if she got lost. She says that she didn't know how big the store was, so didn't understand why they did that every time they went there, until she helpeded us look up this information tonight. (She never wandered away from any grown-ups, whenever she went out with them. Isn't that weird?) She didn't mention the six-inch high slice of cake, her Gram would buy her after lunch in the restaurant in the store, until tonight. She thought we'd eat all the cakes, if we knew when we were there. Ummm, of course we woulda! Isn't that why they make the cakes?! Kehehehehehe

We found this mail box that only takes Santa's mail! We had to investigate closer. We are sad to report there were no elves inside. No Santa, either! There is a letter to the right of the picture, for a little girl named, Virginia. It tells her, "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus." Ummm, who doesn't know that?

When we left the store, our Garden Gals realized the trees along Market Street were real and in containers. We all like the way the street was decorated, but our Garden Gals now want a few containers, like these, for our garden. We don't think they would fit through our doors to get to the backyard. We're also pretty sure, our backyard could only fit four of these, and then we'd merely have a garden a few feet from the ground, with no way to see the ground, ever again.

After a little Christmas shopping, we headeded home. Daddy and Mommy wanteded to see one more decoration – the Christmas Tree in the courtyard of our City Hall. (They've been disappointed in past years, when the city put the tree in other places. The courtyard useded to be the exact center of the city, so it just belongs there.) This is seeing it as we pass under City Hall, through an above ground/below building tunnel. Usually there is a musician playing, because it makes good reverb, but no musicians in it when we went through.
It's a huge tree, but, compared to City Hall, it looks small. (Our daughters think City Hall looks like a castle. They think their friend, Dilly, would really like it, even if it is only 200-300 years old.)
Here's a close up of the decorations. We decided not to get our picture taken under it, a'cuz no one was looking at the ground, and we were a'scared we'd get trampled on, with all these Peoples.

As we were looking around, we saw something we wanted to investigate closer. Spaulding is pointing to it. Can you see it?

Daddy took a closer picture. It's in that circle.
Here's a close up of the circle. That's a crane sticking out of that building! A really big crane, too! We want one of those for Christmas!
We went home, took a nap, ate dinner, brought out the birthday cake (chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, and hotdogs baked inside) for Lady and Spaulding, and sang "Happy Birthday!" Then they openeded their presents.

Spaulding is holding a plastic wiffle-like ball. (We thought it was that kind of ball, until we read the official website. Never got a'scared to use a word in our blog before. Might just be us, but we don't think it's right that a business should scare kids like that!) Lady is holding the Christmas Tree decoration from Hallmark.
She loves it! It's a Teddy Bear Daddy reading T'was the Night Before Christmas to his son – just like Spaulding likes to do with his kids.
Usually, we like to go down to Hotel NOLA and have a great big birthday party. We did arrange to have one, but we were all too tired to go. We did call down to tell everyone what happened. Since this is two days later, we are happy to report that all of our buddies still had a good time.
A great birthday on a great adventure. Now it feels like Christmas!
