Boy, things have changed ‘round here since last Easter! We’re not quite sure what “diabetes” means, but now that our parents have to fight it, we don’t get much candy anymore! Good thing Valentine is good buds with the Easter Bunny, or we’d have to Trick or Treat for our Easter Baskets! Kehehehehehe
OK, Daddy and Mommy gave us advance warning and some money, a’cuz they just can’t bring in sugary goodness into our home anymore. So Val gave the Big Bunny our address at Hotel NOLA, and we had to buy a bunch of eggs to hard-boil and color with our kids. With 10 stuffies in our hug, plus our friends and family in our home, including Mommy and Daddy, and all of our buddies, wellllll, dying eggs takes lots and lots and lots and lots of time! That’s what we’ve been doing for most of this last week.
Mommy gave us all of her Magic Markers, so we could make designs on the eggs, too. Each one of us made, at least, one egg with nothing but Magic Markers, which can take up to an hour to do. (We get beary fancy!) Even most of our Small City Animal buddies helped. The birds wouldn’t help, a’cuz they thought it was creepy, for the same reason Valentine doesn’t like candy rabbits – they think it’s terrible to eat their own kind! (We don’t mean to hurt their feelings; we just never think of such things.)
We meant to take pictures of all of our eggs, but we didn’t get finished until last night, so we had to put our kids to bed, before hiding them all inside and outside of our Hotel NOLA for the big Easter Egg Hunt!
Now, the good news is, with that many eggs, everyone was guaranteed to find some! Of course, the birds joined in, but sneakeded the eggs they found back into their nest. How do we explain to them that they simply can’t hatch after being boileded?!
Next year, we’ll skip eggs, chicks, and rabbits, but what is left?
We know the real importance of Easter, so, to make the birds feel better, and, by then, everyone else, since we all felt terrible about what the birds did at the Easter Egg Hunt, we gathered everyone around to read the original story about Easter. Although everyone already knew who Jesus is, we still started where Jesus is welcomed into
Here’s the link, in case, you want to know how the story ends. We’ll even give you a hint – it doesn’t end when Jesus dies on that cross – whew!
Easter is also our anniversaries. We had a double wedding, so today is our fifth anniversary of one of the bestest days of our lives. We’d tell you about how we’re celebrating, but we’re just cuddling and remembering all the good times. If you want to remember them too, try our Blog archives.
