We’ve recently met a Teddy Bear thorough our buddy, Bob T. Bear. This new friend’s name is Edmund (the Explorer) Nebitt. (Betcha already knew that by our postestest title!)
Now, all Teddy Bears are wonderful just a’cuz we’re Teddy Bears, but Edmund, who is named after the famous explorer Edmund Hillary, is wonderful many times over! Edmund had another life, was given up to a Teddy Bear Adoption Center, then adopted by Mrs. Nebitt, who knew his dream immediately and is helping him achieve his dream!
Edmund’s dream is to go on a record-breaking Teddy Bear’s picnic to help St. Theresa’s Hospice, where kids are helped after the death of a parent to cancer. Now, this isn’t just any ole Teddy Bear picnic (although there is no such thing as “any ole Teddy Bear picnic,” since we really know how to have fun!) Edmund is going with a group of bears on a picnic in the
(Side Note: Did you know "arctic" means "bear?" Polar Bears live there! "Antarctic" means "against bear" or "No Bear." No bears live in the Antarctic!)
Quite an adventure, huh? Well, as you know, such exploration requires money! BUT, being a Teddy Bear, the money needed is money for St. Theresa’s Hospice, not for equipment and travel. Edmund is gathering his clothing on his own (although, we suspect, he wouldn’t mind help with that, too, if you happen to have nice warm clothing for some bears), has a group to travel with, learning how to survive the Artic, and learning the art of exploring.
Soooo, go ahead! Go visit Edmund’s blog, and help this exceptional bear out! Thank you!
